Professional Research
Dr. Schumaker's teaching and research is focused on health policy, organizational theory and behavior and strategic planning. She has published articles in the Journal of Health and Human Services Administration, Public Performance Management and Review, Metropolitan Universities, and Cityscape: A Journal of Policy Development and Research. She has co-authored several reports, including the Standardized Model for Assessing Substance Abuse Among Offenders. Dr. Schumaker is currently researching the building of public health infrastructure in Nebraska.
Professional Activities
Dr. Schumaker directs the annual Nebraska Municipal Clerks Institute and Advanced Academy. She is active in the Nebraska Educational Alliance for Public Health. She is a member of ASPA and has served as the Nebraska Chapter president.
Hobbies & Interests
Dr. Schumaker is active in Omaha North Rotary. She is currently serving as president of Presbyterian Outreach, Inc. Her interests lie in travel, gardening, and reading.
