Professional Research

Professor Bryan's areas of research include the strategic management of  public and nonprofit organizations, large-scale organizational and systems change, and regional governance.  Her research has been published in Public Organization Review and State and Local Government Review.  Her current research include organizational capacity in local nonprofit and public organizations delivering social services, governance capacity of regional organizations in addressing energy and climate policy efforts, and the roles of external funders, including national foundations,  in large-scale change efforts in public institutions.
